Types of dreams
There are three types of dreams.
Silent dreams
Silent dreams are about our real life and it represents an awareness that nothing is happening.

Sometimes we dream aimlessly and see our self talking to devil or such horrible creatures in the dreams.
Good and blessed dreams
If a person dreams that something is about to happen in future. He must concern to any Islamic scholar (Aalim or Mufti). Usually whatever we see in our dreams it effects opposite in the Islamic meanings.
“Near the end of times, a real Muslim will not see a false dream but the truth. Those people who speak the truth and don’t lie will see the true dreams only.
Sahih Al Bukhari
Holy Prophet ﷺ said, “True and good dreams of a Momin are the 46th part of the Wahi (revelation)” Refrence: Sahih Bukhari
This hadith means that near to the day of judgment (Qayamah) only a true believer who is honest and truthful to Almighty Allah from inside and out, whom Allah loves, and whom Allah has been given Jannah will have true dreams. Whatever he sees in his dream comes true the very next moment of his life. Subhan Allah!
In this way, he is able to predict his future and knows very well what is going to happen in his life from now on.
He also gets to know what is written for him about his life in “Loh e Mahfooz” i.e the Book of Allah having those secrets which only Allah knows.
Narrated by Hazrat Ayesha رضي الله عنها
Our beloved Prophet ﷺ said to his companions (the Sahabah Karam), “There will be nothing left after me except Good news.
The companions asked,”O! Prophet of Allah what is good the news”? He replied, Good dream which a Momin sees or anyone sees for him”. Reference: Sahih Bukhari
How to handle dreams?
In the Hadith, it is narrated that whoever sees a good dream, its from Allah and if he sees a Bad dream then he should spit on his left side i.e. left shoulder, and say أَعُوْذُ بِاللّٰهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطٰانِ الرَّجِيْمِ seeking refuge of Allah from Evil (Shaitan). This is done because Good dreams are from Allah and bad dreams are from Evil. It is better to take the guidance from any Islamic scholar (Aalim / Mufti) about dreams whether its good or bad.
Narrated by Abu Qatada:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “A good dream that comes true is from Allah, and a bad dream is from Devil or Satan, so if anyone of you sees a bad dream, he should seek refuge with Allah from Satan and should spit on the left, for the bad dream will not harm him.”
Sahih al-Bukhari 6986
To conclude I must say that Durood o Salam to our beloved Prophet may peace and blessings be upon him. Allah and his Prophet ﷺ knows the best.
